DENTISTRY AND DENTAL SERVICES Community Health Centers of South Central Texas

We offer preventive and general dental services, including cleaning, fillings, root canals, and extractions. We also offer restorative dentistry and oral health education.

What to expect

During the exam, we will check for cavities (tiny holes in your teeth that can hurt), gum disease, and other oral health issues. The professional cleaning helps remove tartar and plaque that brushing at home can’t get rid of, keeping your teeth clean and shiny.

Why is dental care important?

  • Good oral health can contribute to overall health. Studies have shown that people with poor oral health are more likely to have other health problems, such as heart disease, stroke, and diabetes.
  • Regular dental checkups and cleanings can help detect and prevent dental problems early, when they are easier and less expensive to treat.
  • Dentists can also provide guidance on proper brushing, flossing, and diet choices that promote oral health.
  • Early dental visits can help establish a positive relationship with the dentist and enable the provider to monitor oral health development from an early stage.
