Gonzales Elks Lodge 2413 making a difference in Gonzales and surrounding communities.
On Friday January 22, 2021, Elks Lodge2413 joined the fight against the Covid-19 virus supporting Community Health Centers of South-Central Texas through a donation of $5,500 to purchase much needed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to be used by staff and patients served by the Community Health Center. Exalted Ruler, Joe Solansky presented to the members a request to use a Beacon grant provided by the Elks National Foundation (ENF) Community Investment Program to provide funding for PPE to the Community Health Center. The members approved the submission of the proposal.
Making a difference is not new for Gonzales Elks Lodge as it quietly goes about serving the people through benevolent programs, demonstrating that Elks Care and Elks Share. Elks invest in their communities through programs that help children grow up healthy and drug-free, meet the needs of today’s veterans, and improve the quality of life. They have sponsored a dental program for veterans who had not seen a dentist for an average of 7 years due to cost. The program is now on its third year. Gonzales Elks Lodge 2413 also sponsored flu shots for children whose parents could not afford the Flu immunization. In addition, Elks lodge sponsored a toy give away at the lodge where more than 200 children from Gonzales and surrounding communities were able to choose a toy for Christmas.
Members of Gonzales Elks lodge 2413 welcome new members who want to make a difference in the community. They bring so much more to their communities than just a building, golf course or pool. They are places where neighbors come together, families share meals, and children grow up.
